I understand the envy, but why can't folks just mind their own business?

I don't like to VIP people. Sure, if you are in the industry and you will take care of us, we will take care of you, but really...shouldn't you be treating everyone as a VIP? We wont make an elaborate scene out of hooking you up...most likely you'll get some extra courses, or we might cook something with extra love, but we wont go out and make a production of it. And if we don't feel reciprocated to, then it will never happen again.

So why do some places make VIPS such a big deal?

high rollers?
celebrities?
etc?

nah...revisiting the hotel experience, the people we threw the most soigne at were the corporate executives...which I never understood. I mean the regular guests are spending thousands of dollars to be there...maybe once in a lifetime...and we would do almost nothing extra. But have a corp exec roll in and it was the presidential suite, extra meals, amenities, chef visit's, gift baskets, and general useless BS that got in the way of taking care of the other 1800 guests.

At the current gig, we don't really VIP anyone, including the investors or the owners. We care about the people paying us first to eat our food. And we don't treat them any different than we would treat ourselves. Not because we don't care, but because we care about them all.
