Happy

to be in the presence of apples, squash, parsnips, beets, turnips and, strangely enough, peaches and nectarines that are still local. Leaves are turning, it is raining, taking myself out to dinner tonight, it is feeling like home here. (Is this a recurring theme with me? Guess I chose right this time around.) Yesterday was macoun apples, bay leaf, salt, water- now a sauce to go over smoked chops tomorrow. Fall is good and I am hoping to turn some of that stonefruit into a winter over somehow in the next few weeks. Nothing like pulling out memories of this season once the ground is white again.
